Best Healing Destinations In the World

Seven Destinations in the World for Healing: From the Rainforest and the Dead Sea to Lombok.

Healing or healing became a viral term during the Covid-19 pandemic. Having a different definition for each individual, one of the healing processes that is often done is going on vacation or just a staycation, staying at a hotel for a short time. Healing can be done anywhere, from local places to foreign countries.

Every country has its own best healing place. But, for those who like a challenge, here are five destinations in the world for healing according to Travel and Leisure.

1. Dead Sea, Israel.

The Dead Sea is a landlocked salt lake and has long been known for its healing properties. From applying black mud to the body to exfoliate the skin and relieve skin problems such as psoriasis, natural powers are claimed to cure asthma, osteoporosis, self-inflammation, and other problems. In addition, basking in the Dead Sea can absorb vitamin D without the risk of sunburn because, at 400 meters below sea level, harmful UV rays are filtered out by the evaporation layer above the Dead Sea, extra atmospheric layers, and ozone.

2. Yakushima Island, Japan.

Forest bathing is said to be good for the soul. So uniting with nature under shady trees since ancient times should really pamper the body's cells. The special region of mountainous rainforest that covers one-fifth of the island is a popular tourist attraction in Japan. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, each peak of Yakushima Island is hailed as the home of the gods. Jomon Sugi, a giant cedar tree that is estimated to be two to seven thousand years old and resides on the island, is reported to have healing properties.

3. Salt Flats, Jan Thiel, Curacao.

A spiritual buzz can be felt when tourists arrive on this Dutch-Caribbean island. Wild flamingos are a sight to behold, but they don't believe in the transformation that allegedly took place on the terraced salt flats. Visitors will find it nearly impossible to sink to the bottom of the pool due to the high concentration of minerals in the refreshing waters on the east end of the island.

4. The Healing Hole, Bimini, Bahamas.

This is a serene freshwater pool accessible only by boat, located in East Bimini. Some consider these cool, fresh-water channels that swirl with the warm, salty waters outside the mangroves of the Bahamas to be a panacea. Finding this mineral-rich spot on your own is difficult enough, so hire a shallow boat guide to lead the way to safety.

5. Ibusuki Sand Baths, Kagoshima, Japan.

Ibusuki Sand Bath is the only natural sand bath in the world. Situated on the shoreline of Ibusuki, the people of Japan and its surroundings have spent more than three hundred years lying in the beach's shallow holes. The sand there has a temperature of 122-131 degrees Fahrenheit due to the volcanic hot springs that line the beach. and is called suitable for vacation and healing.

6. Bali, Indonesia

The next destination is Taman Ujung Sukasada, which consists of buildings with Balinese carvings and architecture from the ancient Balinese kingdom, a beautiful lotus pond and stunning mountain views.

If you want something more challenging, you and your friends can go to Secret Beach Nusa Lembongan.

This beach presents clear water conditions so you can see the corals under the sea without the need to snorkel. Other references to anti-mainstream places that can be visited are Bias Tugel Beach, Peguyangan Waterfall, Soka Beach, Gunung Kawi Temple, and Gunung Payung Beach.

As one of the most popular destinations in the world, the Island of the Gods has a myriad of enchanting natural and cultural tourist attractions. Tianyar Savanna, for example, presents a fairytale-style view of vast green grass in the rainy season and African-style grasslands in the dry season. Molenteng Hill can be the next alternative. This hill presents a panoramic view of a cluster of beautiful cliffs clad in green trees.

7. Lombok, Indonesia

Lombok is one of the destinations in Indonesia that has millions of beautiful beaches. For you and your friends who have an adventurous spirit, you can come to Segara Anak Lake, which is located at the foot of Mount Rinjani. Here, visitors can enjoy the very clear lake water and camp while looking at the stars in the sky at night. Still in the Mount Rinjani area, Pergasingan Hill can be the right spot to see the natural wonders on the mountain with the harmony of views of rice fields and towering mountains.

If you want to dive and snorkel in very clear water, you can go to Gili Kondo. This place still has a natural ecosystem. Tourists can feel firsthand the atmosphere surrounded by marine life, such as fish and coral reefs, which are very beautiful. Apart from that, there is a unique place called Teluk Kelambu Waterfall. The water stream is short and flows through the leaves.

According to local legend, there is a reincarnated angel named Dewi Anjani who used to bathe in this waterfall. You and your friends can bathe and soak in a pool with fresh water and cool air.
